In no particular order

The day after my birthday Chad went to the zoo with Cam's kindergarten class. He was able to take Spencer with him. Which meant that I was left alone (well not completely alone) for the entire day. It was MARVELOUS. The boys were out the door at 8:15 am and Abby was down for her morning nap at 9:00, so I was down for MY morning nap at 9:30. I slept for 2 hours and when I woke up Abby was still asleep--so I read my book--in the sunshine, might I add. When she finally woke up I called mom to come over for lunch and a show (The Good Wife---a favorite). I was amazed at how 8:15-3:00 went by so fast. My wonderful day didn't end there--Grandma took the kiddos so Chad and I could go to dinner. Oh, I forgot to mention that I started my day with Abby sleeping 9-5:30--straight--no binky plugging needed. Too bad she hasn't slept that well since. Someday, I guess.

They love to hold their sister. And always ask to have their picture taken too.

A sports fan in the making--she is thrilled to be watching a basketball game.
Spence woke up one morning and I asked him if he wanted to go watch cartoons with Daddy, or snuggle with me. He chose to snuggle and fell back asleep pronto.

Love the expression on her face.
The smiles are finally making everything worth it. When you're not a huge fan of newborns as it is, it's a wonderful thing to start getting smiles.
Pretty much every Saturday we have pizza at Two Jack's. It is something the boys love so much. Nat did so well with the "claw machine" that we let the boys try it. By the end we all had a spikey-squishy ball. It was great.
They even made sure to get one for Abby too.

  1. My kids are jealous of those squishy balls. That just doesn't sound right.
