Zip Line (Daddy's New Toy)

A while ago Chad got another one of his brilliant ideas. "Let's build a zip line in the back yard!" At first he was going to connect it to the playhouse but that didn't provide enough slope or stability. So he talked to our next door neighbor and asked if we could use his tree that is just over the fence. Dave (our neighbor) had no problem whatsoever with us doing that. So yesterday while we were having pizza Chad asked Brett what he was doing for the day. Brett said nothing really. Chad asked if he wanted to come help build a zip line. Brett was all over it and came up and within about an hour they had the whole thing set up. Much thanks goes to Brett as Chad would not have been able to set it up himself.

The videos are like jeeping videos -- they really don't give you the true persepective. The start of the zip line is about 15 feet off the ground. Both Cameron and Spencer were a little nervous about going all the way from the start. Chad kept saying, "You don't have to if you don't want to." But I would say, "Yes, you want to!" Once they tried it they loved it and went time and time again.

Chad being our safety nut tried the zip line first (if it could hold his now even heavier body) it could hold the kids. He also made sure the boys were strapped in with their climbing harnesses and wearing their climbing helmets.

  1. I didn't know Chad could do cool stuff like this... well I guess the neighbor did most of the work. Can't wait to try it out!
