Why You Should Always Rotate Food Storage

Yes, this is all VERY expired food. Chad finished my wonderful laundry/storage room this week, so I moved all the food onto my new shelves, and boy the picture doesn't do the amount of expired food justice. I was going to catalog it just for fun, and counted to can #30 and couldn't go on. Needless to say I will be doing better. Cameron helped move all the food, so he deserved to be in the picture.

  1. What a bummer! How nice to have your laundry room and storage area done though! Way to go Chad.

  2. Hang in there, it's a work in progress. It has taken me a while to figure out a food rotation system that works for my family. Have fun with your new laundry room storage area.

  3. I'm doomed in this department once we settle down for more than a few years. My food rotation consists of chucking the old stuff before we move to a new house.

  4. I never had much food storage living in CA so rotating it was not a problem. I only had a little pantry to work with. Now that we've moved here and have a basement, I can see I need to learn more about rotating the food storage that I am acquiring. Good luck!

  5. Seriously girl, you look HOT! Good for you! :)

I went home last fall and helped my sisters clean out my mom's pantry and she had food storage stuff in there from 1979. Yep, you read that right. It was 30 year old. We chucky chucked that for sure.
